Rep. Henry Waxman is hot on the trail of more fraud surrounding the US Embassy in Iraq. He has obtained documents showing not only fraud, but bribery and some of the shoddiest building practices I have never seen and I was in the construction field for over 20 yrs. While Waxman didn't come right out and say it, he seems to feel members of the State Dept.

After Comey, after Goldsmith rescinded the Bybee Memo on Torture, after Congress passed laws barring torture, and many more denials by Bush, yet another secret opinion was written saying torture was ok, even when done to the extreme.

Imagine for second going into any poor neighborhood with high unemployment in the USA and placing a Twenty Dollar Bill on the ground for all to see. Next imagine it's legal to shoot anyone that bends over to pick up that Twenty. Does that idea shock your civilized mind like it did mine ?

Can you freaking believe that yet again the most investigated Pres. in history will have to go thru this one more time ? When I read the headline all I could think is what the hell is Waxman doing ? Why is the big question right ? You won't believe the reason or maybe you will, but I didn't. File this under "what was he thinking?"

On Friday Petraeus told the Australians a few lies which I assume will be the same thing we hear when he testifys to Congress. Here is the boldface lie he told the Aussies.

In what could be the final nail in ATT and the other phones company's coffins over their helping break the law when it came to spying on Americans , McConnell spilled the beans in Texas. He admitted that they have claimed they didn't do. It is no longer a secret so they should no longer be able to claim "States Secrets" when they next appear in court.  There have already been a few rulings that say since Bush spoke about this part or that, that it can't be called secret anymore. This should be seen the same way by the Federal Judges now looking at the cases against the phone companys. In a transcript of his interview with the El Paso Times is the proof they broke the law, plain and simple.

Foreign Policy Magazine, published by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace has done a survey of 108 Foreign Policy Experts. The results seem to back up what most of us have been saying for a few years now. It also shows that most Pres. Candidate, both on the Right or Left don't have it right either. The 10 page, but short article should be a must read for all of us. Of those surveyed a full 80% either are or have worked for the US Gov. and the report seems to be bipartisan in all ways.

We are already going to spend years, maybe decades cleaning up the Justice System as it is. After Ashcroft, and then Gonzales, not to mention Alito and Roberts who knows what has been done behind our backs ? US Attys appointed just because of their religious beliefs and or where they went to school or who they supported. Any sane Democrat would never let Bush appoint another questionable Judge would they ? Hell, even Sen. Feinstein knew better.

99 Tons. That is a outrageous amount of weapons. A minimum of 4 planeloads lost? Anyone who knows the Military, knows that the one thing they do in a anal fashion is flight records. The who what where and when a plane takes off and lands is documented up the wahzoo. Knowing this to be true, where did 99 Tons of weapons scheduled to land in Baghdad really land ? No one seems to know.

On Friday Bush issued his latest Signing Statement. Unlike many of his other ones this one does little damage to anything but how history will see this era. No direct signs he plans on ignoring any Laws or further usurping of the Constitution. This Singing Statement is nothing but a backhanded slap in the face at those that have tried to stop the wholesale destruction of our Constitution.

Let me start off by saying it has taken me all day to decide to write this diary. When I first read it this morning it was done through a veil of tears. I dropped a couple comments over the day on this , hoping someone else would write about it, but it didn't happen. I can understand why no one wanted to write about it either.
