Thanks for posting this excellent essay. I have been avoiding the subject of torture for months, although I frequently posted about it last year, and it was the subject of the very first blog I ever posted on the internet.

I guess a lot of us have burned out on this issue. I'm glad you haven't.

Torturing prisoners is an eternal disgrace to the United States, the armed services, and all the brave men and women who now serve or have ever served under the American flag.

The failures of U.S. policies in Afghanistan and Iraq were predicted by Susan Lindauer and others, but the Bush administration placed gag orders on them and Congress unquestioningly gave Bush whatever he wanted (and is still protecting him from impeachment).

If it unfortunate that both candidates are committed to continuing the Bush policies, as I point out in my new diatribe, "Boycott the War!"

Hey, but what's a little genocide and torture if you can exercise your right to vote in rigged elections for candidates with the same agenda?
