I don't think it's even clear that violence has been reduced. US military deaths have been reduced (Thank God) via payment of protection money, and REPORTING HAS BEEN REDUCED!!

If we go to war with Iran then expect martial law and reinstatement of the draft. Martial law will be necessary to contain the outbreak of protests. And what will happen to election? It either won't be held or will be nullified.

This article was posted on Capitol Hill Blue, Was moved to top-of-the column for the day on Op-Ed News, The Smirking Chimp, here at Diatribune, and has been cross-posted on several other sites. Its done well on Reddit through Justanothercoverup, and comments on several of these sites are supportive and indicative that many Americans believe "enough is enough." It has also been submitted to Buzzflash and right now, has 16 Buzzes and may be close to publication. With your support, it may be published there also.

We have all written about the crimes perpetrated against the American people and the global community by the Bush administration, and to be honest, there is already enough evidence to impeach either of these criminals if Congress would vote their duty and the will of the American people. Do your part. Take the time to email this article to your favorite site administrator, Congressman, or Union Representative or any other way you can think of to muster the support we need to make a strike a reality and bring an end the the abuses in Washington. Today was Independence Day, and it's time that we make it stand for something other then vacations and lining the pockets of our Legislators and Oil Companies.

Enough is enough. Google "Food Shortage" and you will be astounded by the results. The time to take action is now, and we have the ability to make a difference - by simply taking the time to turn concern into action, and action into results. Complacency today could result in your own family facing food shortages - and the US is not immune to the specter or food riots and decreased and expensive food - something none of us are prepared to deal with as gas keeps rising and we have the lowest stock of food on hand on in over 43 years. We all love our country and would die to protect liberty and democracy, but hoping that someone else will come to our rescue has now been proven to be a falsehood - and that includes our own Congress! The jigs up; there is no more time. All of the words have been written that are necessary for us to make a difference - and now we need to act upon our beliefs in "The American Way" and support our Constitution and the rule of law. The family you same may be your own.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday, and then let's take back our nation and demand that Congress fulfill its duty and necessity to represent the people of this nation rather than AIPAC and special interest groups. Good luck, and don't forget that millions of other Americans are also searching for an answer to an administration that seems bent on destroying everything we believe in.

Great play-up of something not really that big. I applaud you for your talent of taking words someone said and blowing them out of proportion. It would seem as though, from your own point of view, of course, you and Mr. Obama share this ability that just works wonders when it comes time to unite the party under a single candidate.

Thanks for staying on top of this issue. The conglomeration of news into five or six giant corporations is probably more dangerous for democracy in the United States than any other single issue.

If the public is only informed about whatever five or six right-wing billionaires want them to be informed about, then voting turns into an empty formality, and elections are decided by propaganda and tabloid images.

It's important for us internet news junkies to remember that 85% of the public still gets political info mainly from newspapers and TV, and the political rainbow on all those outlets only runs from far right to center-right.

Now McCain is supposed to be a centrist, just because he isn't a fundamentalist theocrat like Huckabee!

I see an internet news show anchored by fake consultant. There is this miracle out there called "broadband" that makes "broadcast" and cable obsolete...
That's "broadcast" and cable where a few fatcats own the airwaves forever, as opposed to "broadband" where anybody with a camcorder can be a network.
