Obama sucked up to the NRA but they hate him anyway (clue: he's black), so now he's ready to throw them under the bus, along with Jeremiah Wright and his own grandma.

This isn't just Obama's political modus operandi, it's the ostensibly "provisional" modus vivendi of his whole existence... (Harharharhar!!! Try parsing that monstrosity, "ostensibly 'provisonal' modus vivendi!" A fantastic combination of scare quotes, Latin, and an apparently pleonastic occurence of "provisonal.")

If Obama's little friends want to do him a real favor, they should stick to one essential talking point:

Barack Obama is not John McCain.

That would be enough to get my vote, if I lived in a swing state, but luckily for me I live where progressives can afford to "waste" our votes on an honest, intelligent candidate with real principles and deep commitment to the progressive agenda.

In response to the few substantive comments this diary attracted on Daily Kos and MyDD, it's worth pointing out that Obama himself defines the issue in Heller as the individual right to bear arms, which supports my reading of Miller. If it's already so hard to pass any kind of gun control while the courts deny the individual right to bear arms, what would it be like if they affirm it?
