Thanks for reading! :) Just

Thanks for reading! :) Just today I read the following on a young person'a blog about his trip to help. It was extremely appropo.

One day a wise man was walking the beach when he saw a young man who appeared to be dancing in the distance. As he approached the young man he saw that he was bending down and throwing something into the water. He asked, “Young man, what are you doing?” The young man replied, “I am throwing starfish, which have washed up on shore, back into the water.” The wise man replied, “Young man, there are miles and miles of beach with thousands of starfish washed up on shore. How can you possibly expect to make a difference?” The young man said nothing, bent down, and picked up another star fish and tossed it back into the ocean. “It made a difference to that one,” he replied.

There is so much work that needs to be done along the gulf coast in the aftermath of Katrina as we enter another hurricane season. Thank you for reminding people.

"Rather than describing a well-though out deliberate plan of action to protect the Gulf Coast and its residents, Barbour announced “No government is big enough to do everything for everybody.”

Well, there's no doubt about that, but I think Barbour's "everybody start thinking now about where you're gonna hide when the next big one hits" emergency plan needs work. It's not like people who live in a hurricane-prone area *don't* think about that.

Hurricanes are a fact of life, you know, Haley. I live in New Orleans; you better come up with something a little more inspiring than "run, you mo-fo's, run."

Astonishing! You guys really need a real governor. You could have mine, but I live in Kentucky and you probably have heard about him already.

Hope is powerful. With hope,

Hope is powerful. With hope, we accomplish what the depressed or cynical among us--ourselves included--cannot fathom as possibilities. Hope inspires our creativity, our ingenuity, and our perseverance in the face of massive obstacles.

Hope is the elixir to achieve the impossible because hope fuels our ability to think beyond what is to imagine and then create.

I'm happy that this story gives you hope. It gives me hope, too. ;)

It gives one hope to hear stories about voters fighting back against the politicians who have betrayed them.
