Good speech. So what. He still likes Wright. He says Wright is family. Well, his family hates my family. I don't like it. I don't want an Obama Nation.
Where is that white grandmother of his?
He certainly comes from a broken family. No wonder he looks to Wright as family. But that is not acceptable for a president of the U.S.

I am so flummoxed by the thick-headedness of the affluent media types who do not understand how anyone who is well-off can be concerned for poverty. They must have no understanding whatsoever about the downside of this country!

And to question JRE's motives is just terrible. It says a lot, frankly, about what they think the motives are of all Presidential candidates: They have to fundamentally be about self-interest.

Well, how about a candidate who is different from that? Wouldn't that be great -- as it has been in the past??

There is a converse that we don't talk enough about. Not only are we the greatest danger to ourselves, but if we were to live up to our ideals - THAT would be our greatest strength and the greatest discouragement to enemies.

Very well said and covers a lot of needed territory. One or two things to add though. The Bush administration allowed the 9/11 attacks to occur after ignoring repeated warnings about Al -Qaeda.
They came into office obsessed about regime change in Iraq and placed their personal desires to confront Saddam Hussein over our national security interests and have never been held to account for it. The other point is that the republican party has consistently attempted to use this national tragedy to its political advantage and has never been held accountable for that either. We need more people willing to speak the truth about this tragedy and the Bush administrations contributions to it and attempts to benefit from it politically and financially.

prefer if we didn't pay attention. It makes it easier for them. And of course they go after journalists to make sure that the news of their human rights abuses do not get out.

Wow!!!!!!! I began protesting while in Middle School. However, in my life and by choice, I avoided drama and trauma like a plague! I seek and express peace no matter where, when or how I demonstrate. I did then and still do.

Reading of the adrenaline rush was more than enough for me to feel panicked. "Out for blood" has never been my intent. I cannot imagine. Reading the words causes my heart to throb.

Your words are gripping! I visualized each moment. I am grateful that you are here to share the story. Sadly, I am reminded of how many children are running, hurting, and escaping . . . all with reason. If life at home causes such stress then, of course, anxiety becomes the norm.

Your tale takes me to a thought I frequently repeat, perchance, if homes were not battlefields, there would never be war. It would not be an option or consideration. Just a thought.

Eris is a lover (of life) and not a fighter. My life was altered when I met him several years ago in a photography class at San Diego City College. THERE IS NO WAY THAT A PERSON LIKE ERIC WITH SUCH A COMPASSIONATE AND CARING NATURE COULD EVER DO SUCH A THING!!!!!I just saw the story on Dateline last night and I outraged! Such potential rotting in a jail cell.

Your arguments do not hold water. You offer NO proof of Eric's guilt, only here say, just like the prosecution in Eric's trial. All of the PROOF, including testimony from a very reliable Nicaraguan citizen, was dismissed by the judge who obviously feared retribution from the local citizens for making an unpopular ruling. This is just another example of the corruption and criminal acts played out every day by those who are employed by and in charge of the justice system in countries like Nicaragua. You are correct about one thing...the system did not frame Mr. Volz. That was done very effectively by the judge and prosecution who colluded to frame him. Your country (I assume that you are Nicaraguan bacause you are defending such a corrupt and immoral system, only someone who is a product of such a system would do that) will remain impoverished and corrupt until you change your legal system to one that judges guilt or innocence on facts, not here say. Public outrage is not justification for lack of facts, period. Do you really believe that a court in any western european country (you make the claim that europeans are more intelligent-where did you get that from..I am from europe and you are completely wrong with absolutely NO facts to back it up except of course HERE SAY) would have convicted Eric Volz based on the evidence presented in the case? And as for your comments about OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson, better one person not punished than to have multitudes jailed wrongly or because the judge feared local retribution. SHOW ME THE FACTS!!!!!!!!!!
