Time Magazine States That Americans Don't Care About Losing Our Civil Rights

I read an article in Time Magazine online that has me questioning their intent. From what I'm reading in news accounts on the Internet, the facts don't agree with the article. In fact, in this author's opinion, the article, by omitting facts that would incriminate the MSM themselves, are misrepresenting this issue as they have so many before and rather than news - I believe it's propaganda, telling people that the majority of Americans don't seem to care - which by every poll that's been taken demonstrates that the people, by a vast majority, believe this country is headed in the wrong direction and are extremely dissatisfied with our government!

Barack Obama's Irresponsible Bullshit About Gun Control

Here's a quote from VirginiaDem's celebration of Obama's "Reagan-like ability to attract his listeners to his positions," which was recommended by about 500 Kossacks:

"There's a Supreme Court case that's going to be decided fairly soon about what the Second Amendment means. I taught Constitutional Law for 10 years, so I've got my opinion. And my opinion is that the Second Amendment is probably -- it is an individual right and not just a right of the militia."

On Patriotism Gone Horribly Wrong, Or, Let’s Lynch The Witnesses

We have an especially good story to discuss today, and it has all the elements of a Hollywood movie: an oppressive State which demands national unity from school kids on pain of imprisoning their parents, children who resist on religious grounds, a court system which than rejects the entreaties of those children at its highest levels—and angry mobs who insult, attack, and even kill those associated with the children’s cause.

And that’s just the midpoint of the tale.

Every bit of what you’ll hear today is absolutely true…it all took place in the United States during the 20th Century…and the central subject of the story, believe it or not, is the Pledge of Allegiance.

Police relentless in search for 4th Amendment bypasses

Here's a new Orwellian term to add to the list containing such gems as "Clear Skies", "No child left behind", or the PATRIOT Act itself.

Safe Homes is the name of the program in Boston whose goal is to get police inside homes without warrants to conduct a search.

They think that many families will allow this out of fear their child may be somehow involved in gun violence.

Make the jump.

Gonzo gone, what now?

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales finally announced his resignation  today after meeting with the president at his ranch in Crawford Texas. This time there was no "spend time with family" excuse given. The reasons for his departure were obvious to everyone except the president. This was his reaction:

True Patriot Vs False Patriot

(Updated below)

I keep asking myself: why is there so many people who not only applaud, but actually crave, each and every step taken by our governments to increase their influence over our private lives, to increase their ability to spy, monitor, survey and control us?

And why is it those same people are the most fervent war hawks and supporters of absolute Authority?

We know well these people.

The Arar Affair And Beyond: What Else Is There?

Considering the newly released information regarding the Arar affair, which intimately implicates CSIS and the RCMP, coupled with the recent history of the government of the U.S.A. in conducting illegal spying and monitoring activities, in addition to the recent gutting of FISA, this Canadian citizen asks the questions which no one is apparently asking, such as to what extent are we Canadians being illegally spied upon and monitored by the CIA, FBI and NSA, with the complicit consent of the RCMP, CSIS and the CSE - if not of our own government?
