Disability Rights Advocates has been conducting an investigation into VA hospital access.
While their investigation is being targeted on the Veterans Care issue with the below recent report we can see that the Military Care issue, i.e. Walter Reed and More, is still having the same problems that finally came forward through great investigative reporting and shouldn't have existed nor still exist as to care for the returning active duty Military Personal especially from these theaters of occupations.
Mold infests Okla. barracks for wounded
LAWTON, Okla. — Mold infests the barracks that were set up here a year ago for wounded soldiers after poor conditions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center triggered a system wide overhaul, soldiers say.
Military and Veterans Care were a major issue for us returning Vietnam Veterans, a Major Issue!

The beginning of this is an attempt to bring you up to speed on what has been going on this past year leading up to the purpose of this post, a New Investigation on Veterans Care, and the request for those listed in the subject title to get involved with, especially the Veterans having their troubles with the VA and their Care.
Back in July of 2007 the Law Firm of Morrison & Foerster, with help from the legal staff at Disability Rights Advocates, filed a Class Action Lawsuit on behalf of Veterans for Common Sense and Veterans United for Truth against the Veterans Administration of these United States. A lawsuit, I might add, that shouldn't have found a need for!

Veterans vs Veterans Administration Case UpDate 6-25-08
Yesterday, the 25th, a ruling came down from the judge hearing the case, in San Francisco, 82 pages long, and not a surprise to this Vet. In the ruling the judge sided with the Veterans but had to push it to where it belongs, In Congress. Only Congress and the Executive Branch, of the Peoples Government, can bring about the way to long overhaul of the Veterans Administration. Everything that is being reported about the care to the returning Veterans, of the Wars and Occupations of Choice, is actually Old News, just ask the thousands of my brother, and sister, Veterans of Korea and Vietnam, and it's happening once again while these conflicts rage as it did back than. We call the present Military the Professional Military yet we continue the foul ups that take place within the Government Agencies, Veterans Administration and DOD Health, that are charged with it's care, especially the Mental Trauma War brings on in the Soldiers and the Civilians in these Theaters of Occupation.

I was dismayed to read this ElPaso Times news article written by Chris Roberts. The article explains the Department of Veterans Affairs policy of giving preferential treatment to "new" veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom veterans at the head of the line when processing claims for medical treatment, vocational rehabilitation, employment and education benefits.

Veterans Administration Secretary James Nicholson has sent letters to the Senate and House Appropriation leaders about the FY2008 VA Budget. He feels the House attempt to add 3.8 billion above the Presidents requested budget is a waste of funds and will only encourage President Bush to veto the funds the VA needs to continue their work on October 1, 2007 the first day of the new fiscal year.

Yesterday I posted this: The 'Commander Guy' on Military Health Care, it was a video of the press conference, held yesterday, on the Military Health Care Commission.
After Bob Woodruff was blown off, at the end, from his question to the president, with that Damn Sick smirk and laugh, Woodruff had a follow up report about the Military/VA Care given.
The following is a combination of the two News Clips, from ABC News. One is of the press conference held on the 25th of July, the other is the followup report.

I have seen many comments on the resignation of one of the worst VA heads in the history of the Veterans Administration in this nation. The veterans of this nation deserve the best care and treatment we as a nation can give them, they were hurt or injured in service to all of us, (this nation) and instead of red tape and excuses, they deserve the benefits we promised them when they enlisted or in some cases drafted.

I have been trying to get Congress to help 7120 men used in chemical weapons and drug experiments from 1955 thru 1975 at Edgewood Arsenal Maryland that the Department of Defense and Veterans Administration refuse to help.
