One point: we should not assume that terrorism is simply an attack on the West by Islamic extremists. It is just as likely that the opposite is true. Remember, Western world domination (the New World Order) depends on sewing discord and disruption. This has ALWAYS been the way of Empire. Bin Laden: super-jihadist or CIA operative? Is he one, or the other, or both? it's hard not to wonder when one considers that the jihad in Afganistan was originally largely started and funded by the CIA, and when one considers the strong ties between the CIA-connected Bush family and the Bin Laden family.

One of the most useful ideas Carl Jung had was that of the "complex". It's an idea that is more and more popular in neuroscience today, I believe, though its background in Jung's work (and, going further back, in the writing of Immanuel Kant) is much forgotten.

Today, for example, in our study of how the mind and brain work, we recognize that a word isn't just a word. It's a pattern of neuron connections in the brain, constantly changing, coherent and flexible enough that we can almost invariably recognize a dog when we see one.
