Resisting the Drums of War

The Bush administration promoted the misguided and destructive war in Iraq by targeting five core concerns that often govern our lives--concerns about vulnerability, injustice, distrust, superiority, and helplessness. Looking ahead, the continued occupation of Iraq--or an attack on Iran--will likely be sold to us in much the same way. I examine these warmongering appeals--and how to counter them--in the new video above, entitled Resisting the Drums of War.

Geopolitical Wrestling with Shaban the Brainless

Millions of people are always plotting one thing or another in any given country, and assigning credit for plotting is like assigning credit for any other form of fantasy role-play. A twitch of reality is worth a million strokes of plotting.

The CIA may have been plotting more enthusiastically than most of the other fantasizers who happened to be concentrating their nasty little thoughts on Iran after WWII, but the CIA has always been better at plotting than reality, in spite of the realism of a few intelligent staffers who are typically overruled by celebrity chiefs like Kermit Roosevelt, the American “secret agent” who usually gets most of the blame or credit for overthrowing the government of Mohammed Mossadeq in 1953.

What Iran and Other Nations Are Learning from North Korea

I may be going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing that the fireworks around my neighborhood on July 2nd were not in celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the agreement in which the United States and other nuclear powers agreed to eventually eliminate their nuclear weapons, and non-nuclear states that signed onto the treaty agreed they would not seek to develop nuclear weapons capabilities.

As treaties go, this one

is said to be more significant than others.

If We're Going to Threaten Iran - Let's Make It a Real Threat

So I fire up the computer this morning while waiting for the coffee to brew, and see the morning headlines on BBC, "US warns Iran on missile threat", in response to Iran testing missles yesterday. It's just another in a long litany of threats to start bombing Iran into becoming a "good neighbor" who sells us oil at affordable prices. . . .

Can Americans Stop Bush/Cheney From Attacking Iran? The Answer is Yes!

The above may seem like a bold statement, but I believe it's true. The United States of America is operated and kept alive by the American people, not the politicians that rape, pillage, and spend our money and our most precious resource, America's brave soldiers that fight these illegal wars. Many of our "volunteer military" are not in the fight because of patriotism - but to support their families and seek GI benefits that will allow them to attend college when they leave the armed services.

Our economy is already in ruins, food and gas are becoming luxuries to the poorest families in America, and the middle-class is disappearing faster than Bush's approval ratings. Millions of us are facing foreclosure while the oil companies post profits that are obscene - and still receive huge government subsidies. The average American is now becoming aware that Bush and Cheney are war criminals, yet Congress refuses to impeach them, even though there is a mountain of evidence that supports their immediate impeachment, indictment, and incarceration for breaking our own and international laws. Congress is worthless, and as bad as Bush's ratings are, Congress rates worse, symptoms that the public has lost respect and hope that any of them will find the courage to do what's right! The only thing left to stop the destruction of our country and another war is the people themselves - but first, they have to know what to do. As we stated over a year ago, its time that America's premier alternative news sites, Blogs, and every individual on the Internet get busy and come together in solidarity to take back our country.

John Conyers Confirms That An Attack Against Iran Is Not a "Conspiracy Theory"

On March 31st, we published an article entitled Russian Intelligence Services State US Is Preparing For Attack On Iran. We were not the first to break the story, and in fact, were behind the curve and found the story posted on the Digg Community. The article was well received, however, we noticed that it was being read by an enormous amount of state governmental agencies as well as a "who's who" of federal entities - many of whom followed every link and spent a substantial amount of time reading, and then making return visits to the same article. It ls unconscionable that our Mainstream News Media hasn't followed-up on and reported facts that indicate the United States is on a clear path to war with Iran:

Russian Intelligence Services State US Is Preparing For Attack On Iran

Let's hope the below information is incorrect, however, if it's true that another carrier group and four (4) nuclear attack subs are bound for the Middle-East (Follow the link to Digg) - and their assessment that we have reached pre-invasion levels in regard our naval presence in the area, this is news that should be taken seriously. Congress just came back into session, and if this report is true, it's time to start the impeachment hearings now, while we still have time:

Before The NIE - Iran

Doing some research on a certain topic totally, and I mean totally differant, than this, I came across a report by Michael E. Salla, M.A., Ph.D.
November 7, 2007 posted at Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran cross posted, from his site, America's Hero's Journey, titled The Neoconservative Agenda to Sacrifice the Fifth Fleet – The New Pearl Harbor.

Don't know if anyone caught this before, but my interest is the continuing growing questions I have about the lead up to what happened on 9/11 and all that has occurred since. I'm not one for conspiracies, but am one who questions what they read or hear, especially when it raises question after question, and nobody seems willing to really seek out All the answers!

In Spite Of The Recent NIE, War With Iran May Be Inevivitable

Unfortunately, unless something drastic changes with US and Israeli foreign policy, based on Israel's veiled threats toward Iran, even though the Congress is half-heartedly attempting to hold Bush at bay from attacking Iran - an attack by Israel would draw us into the war whether we liked it or not, and this change of direction on Israel's part stinks to high-heaven of collusion with the hawks (Darth Cheney, Wolfowitz, etc.) in the Bush administration:

US intelligence report heightens danger of Israeli strike on Iran

An Open Letter To President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad And The People Of Iran

I began a series of articles back in 2005 that delved into the situation in Iraq, and specifically stated that our intent on invading Iraq was a precursor to an eventual attack on Iran. I'm not a well-known Political Commentator, and while I did note an occasional visitor from Iran, they were few and far in between; ever since I wrote Attack On Iran Slated For October 15th, Prepare For Disaster those numbers have changed drastically, and just this month we've received a 1,000 % increase of hits originating from Iran, a marked increase in the readership of this site from your country. Those are only the visits that we could verify, however know that many more than that have been logged by other programs. It seems that this small article has been read through-out the Middle-east and Europe, and now, Iran and other countries I never knew frequented this Blog are regular visitors.

Asia Times: Attack Iran and you attack Russia - Is Washington Listening

This story is running in the Asia Times, and its implications should sound the alarm to Bush and Cheney that attacking Iran could bring on World War III, and in such a scenario, there are no winners:

Who is Wrong, CNN or Wayne Madsen at Global Research?

When I read CNN's latest story on the so-called "mistaken flight of nuclear warheads across the country", I was shocked! Who is telling the truth? Is CNN publishing propaganda meant to calm international worries that Bush and Cheney are readying the military to attack Iran with nuclear weapons designed to penetrate targets deep underground, or has Global Research and Wayne Madsen published a story that is false? How are we, the American public, and people throughout the world, able to discern who is telling the truth?

World War III or Peace, An Issue the World At Large Must Address

For the past 2 1/2 years, Justanothercoverup has repeatedly attempted to warn everyone that war with Iran was the ultimate goal of the Bush administration, even though they state they are attempting to pursue diplomacy, and seem to imply that war is the last resort in solving the Iranian crisis. I've been branded as "reactionary" and accused of sensationalism as I've doggedly refused to accept Bush's rhetoric at face value, because in my heart and call it a "gut feeling", I knew that Bush and Cheney had no intention of realistically pursuing peace - which is what the majority of Americans are seeking, along with the most of the international community.
