"Progressive" Websites Serve Up New Kool-Aid

The reality is that the so-called “Progressive” websites, you know, the ones that beat up Bush and the Neo-Cons and tell you they are on the “Cutting Edge” of Liberal/Progressive politics, sites like Daily Kos, OpEdNews.com, TPM Muckracker and others, well the fact is while they are throwing around terms like Neo-Con “Kool-Aid”, they are serving up nothing but a different flavor of the same Kool-Aid that they abhor, this time its Corporate Democrat flavored Kool-Aid.

Cultural Libertarians

Campaigns and Elections Magazine is about as wonky as you get outside of polling data, and aside from it being fairly establishment they do tend to talk about some outside the box ideas. I think I've seen them acknowledge young voters three times in my 2 year subscription I bought. Last month's issue headlined their issue with a picture of what looked like a Millennial in a South Park t-shirt, listening to an iPod, and whistling as he walked down the street carrying a copy of The Fountainhead.

The Libertarian Party Along With Mike Gravel, Can Bring Us Back to Sanity

I am very excited to see Mike Gravel "jump ship" and align himself with the Libertarian Party. I’m sure that anyone who that has read any of my articles knows that I too have come to the conclusion that there is basically very little difference between the Democrats and Republicans when it comes to the central core issues. We have of course, Republicans that espouse "progressive" stances as well as a good number of Democrats that could be considered liberal/progressives. The premise that the two parties have radically different ideologies when we look at their centrist bases however, belies the fact that the two parties have any real substantive differences.

What is Money? Outing the L-Word Part 3

By Andrew S. Taylor

“This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn’t the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.”

--Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

An Open Letter TO Libertarian Activists

By Paul Donovan

Dear Libertarians,

I sincerely appreciate the passion and sincerity you exhibit in your endeavors, and that is why I’d like to bring up a few points to your attention. These comments originate in my recent exposure to a very large number of posts commenting primarily on an article on the Thomas Paine’s Corner blog of Cyrano’s Journal, Annals of Stupidity: The Demise of Alexander Cockburn, by Gerald Rellick.
