Very few doubt that Bush and Cheney have wrecked havoc on America and caused hundreds of thousands of deaths throughout the world, but in retrospect, their actions and behavior have been condoned and suppressed by America's fascist Mainstream News Media - and without their support, The Commander in Thief and Darth Cheney would have been impeached, removed from office, and prosecuted for their crimes years ago if we still had real news and true investigative reporting in the United States.

The MSM, now owned and controlled by corporate America, have betrayed the people, and without their betrayal, the criminal actions of a Presidency that is out of control would have been halted long before they were able to bankrupt our country and compromise the very essence of liberty and freedom! Those who control Fox News, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and the huge amount of radio and television stations throughout our country - which are being bought-out by fascist forces that support corporatism and tyranny, are still gaining in strength - and as usual, Fox News, The Republican Learning Channel, constantly leads the charge to change a democratic republic into a fascist and authoritarian state. Our anti-trust laws have been ignored and changed to allow the enemies of freedom to flourish, while individual rights are now severely curtailed and are disappearing almost as fast as the wealth and integrity that once made America the world's most respected superpower.

I am motivated to edit and repost this diary for several reasons.

During the Mid 1990s I was a student at Cal (that's a story in itself)and I met Ron, who was a pumped-up radical grad student researching History-Ethnic Studies.

I recently received a random email from Ron, and I thought y'all might find the subsequent correspondence amusing. The topics cover American History, NAFTA, immigration, and of course, politics. I can't wait to hear what y'all think of this...

Imagine my surprise yesterday morning when I found out that there was another Coup attempt made on our government in 1933 – and Prescott Bush, Grandfather of George W. Bush was involved; not a real big surprise there, as it’s pretty common-knowledge that the Bush’s were involved heavily in the finances of Nazi Germany – and then switched-sides when it was convenient, which is apparently a Bush Family legacy!

It is often difficult to convey just how far to the right the Republican Party is. With a mainstream media which subscribes to two equal sides journalism at best, and fair and balanced journalism at worst, many Americans are not fully aware of the radical right wing nature of the Republican Party. The United States remains the only country in the advanced industrial world without universal health care. As the Democrats rally for universal health care, the Republicans trumpet sound bites on “socialized medicine.”

At present, George W. Bush is unpopular with the majority of the American public not because of the murderous mayhem he has unloosed in Iraq; rather, his standing has plummeted, due to the fact that he didn’t deliver the goods. Americans are fine with fueling our republic of road rage using the blood of Iraqis (or any other distant and darker people) as long as "the mission" doesn’t drag on too long or reveal too much about ourselves.

In microcosmic mimicry of the plight of the besieged middle and laboring classes, my parent’s Atlanta neighborhood, as is the case with many others in the vicinity, is being destroyed, in reality –disappeared — by a blight of upper-class arrogance. The modest, post-war homes of the area are being “scraped” from the landscape as an infestation ofbloated mcmansions rises from the tortured soil. These particleboard and Tyvek-choked monstrosities loom over the remaining smaller houses of the area, as oversized and ugly as mindless bullies, as banal as the dreams of petty tyrants.

The one thing about most right wingers that I can relate to is the hero worship. I put Martin Luther King on a pedestal, they put Ronald Reagan on a pedestal. Nuff said?

We even share at least one hero, Lincoln. Only, I admire Lincoln the Redeemer of the Nation and they admire Lincoln the Denier of Habeas Corpus. How sickening is that?
