It's amazing how quickly you can get somewhere when someone else is paying for it. And if that person runs a bar with a door in the basement that leads to tunnels that Tom Delay and the K Street Project used to speed people and money under the congested streets of the capitol, well let's just say that Uncle Bud doesn't have to worry about his Amex balance overwhelming him on the 25th of the month. I was in DC less than 10 hours after my Great-Uncle Bud, my Grandmother's youngest brother, asked me to return to the city to help him divide up the GOP "resources." The different factions of the party had splintered after the 2006 election debacle. Fingers were pointed and insider fighting began before the final vote counts were in. The empty GOP slot for the 2008 Presidential Elections drew the "Next Presidents of the United States" like cat hair to your best suit. The battle was engaged and Uncle Bud's decades old status as a man who worked for whichever GOP faction carried the day was as close as the Republicans could find to an honest broker.

Gonzogate: Was it always just about Dusty Foggo?
Submitted by james risser on Tue, 03/27/2007 - 12:25.Help me out with this one. I think Harriet Myers' suggestion to fire all 93 USAs would have been a better idea for the Bush Crime Family. If they had simply fired the lot, we would not be isolating the Karl Rove friend in Arkansas or Carol Lam in California. If one assumes that these firings were to obstruct justice, why did they not fire them all to make it look otherwise? They could have set it up by saying right after the election that there would be changes throughout the executive branch in order to serve the American people, or some other bullshit lie. They could have shifted a few people around to cover the real goal: firing these eight, especially Carol Lam. This should have been done under the radar, and I am perplexed why the Bush Crime Family was so sloppy this time around.
One thing the Bush Crime Family knows well is that if you show us the 'next shiny object' we tend to drop yesterday's shiny object. Are we being shown the shiney objects of Iglesias and the former Rove aide in Arkansas to have us not concentrate on Dusty Foggo? And, why didn't they fire them all?
Something's going on here, but I don't know what it is...

Tom DeLay and his vicious vandals
Submitted by brooklyndiogenes on Tue, 03/20/2007 - 11:18.This morning on NPR’s morning news show, Tom DeLay promoted his new book. Of all the people in the world, The Hammer might be the last one to listen to while awakening, but he gives some insights that are very valuable, though he might not be aware of it. Delay talked about keeping order in his majority. Talked about what what the Republicans have been doing for the last years.
