Lessons of the Vietnam Moratorium for September 21

[Kforet kindly invited me to join and to crosspost this Iraq Moratorium piece that appeared last night at dKos. The dropping of OPOL's name helped get me aboard, as did the front page presence of folks whose dKos work I've been partial to, like clammyc and epppie. As far as this "fully functional social networking site" business,  it may take some time for me to get up to speed. If the blogosphere is entering its Neolithic, I'm still struggling to evolve the opposable thumb.]

I'm still beating the drums for the Iraq Moratorium project here, with the IM website rollout days away (he said, knocking wood) and the daily calender pages flipping, like in an old movie, toward the first Moratorium Day, September 21.

A night of G.I. Resistance on National Television

After all, one good surge deserves another

The first part of this post is a re-post, from Sat Apr 21, 2007
as a reminder of what Everyone should be watching tomorrow night.
That is if you've got the Sundance Channel. If not find a friend who does and invite others, have a Gathering of Action!

Echoes From Virginia Tech

The irrelevant

I spent the afternoon doing the impossible, traveling through time and space. Here in Detroit, and there in Blacksburg. Then back in time, back to grad school.

I drove to campus that morning, listening to the radio. Willie Nelson got interrupted.
“. . . a shooting on campus. One professor has been shot, we aren’t sure about others. . . male, about six-three, two-twenty. Armed and dangerous, last seen driving a. . .”

I knew immediately who the shooter was.
