I thought I had seen it all, and then I received an email from Robert Wexler with a copy of the Sun Sentinel's Editorial titled "Impeachment not worth another minute of anybody's time." When I first read the Editorial, I though it was a joke; since the Sun-Sentinel is in Southern Florida, I though maybe Disney World was involved and Goofy was the Editor, or at worst, they had allowed the White House to write their Editorial. It was the worst take on our current situation that has ever graced (or tarnished) an American newspaper, and those of us who understand the crimes of the Bush administration were likely wondering if the Sun-Sentinel's Editorial Board were using some of that cocaine that Florida is so famous for "importing" through it's many ports and hidden beaches.
To add insult to injury, the Sun-Sentinel ran a poll on whether Bush should be impeached, obviously sure their readership approved of their hipocracy, but hands down, the readership themselves rejected their poorly crafted Editorial and gave them a smack-down they sorely deserved, and I applaud the inhabitants of Southern Florida for posting their opinions and rejecting an editorial that was ridiculous and unfortunately, exposed the Editorial Board of the Sun-Sentinel of rank partisanship and a failure to understand the mood of the American people - even in a Red state like Florida. But first, these are excerpts from an editorial that appears as if it was written by Carl Rove or Dick Cheney, although if either of those had written it, I'm guessing that it might have made some sense, whereas as it was written, we have to ask ourselves if the Sun-Sentinel's Editorial Board was high or drunk when they attempted to "spin" the obvious crimes of the Bush administration:

ISSUE: Some in Congress want an impeachment.
The nation does have a few pressing issues pending that could use some attention from our federal lawmakers.
Let's see. There are a couple of wars going on, unemployment is on the rise as the value of a house continues to fall, millions of Americans have no health insurance, and did we mention that gas prices are expected to hit $5 a gallon? You get the idea. And still, some in Congress feel the nation is just itching for another presidential impeachment.
Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, who has made a career out of eye-rolling issues like these, said this week he wants the House to consider a resolution to impeach President Bush. Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Delray Beach, who is smarter than this, supported the Articles of Impeachment, which won't go anywhere and thankfully have been buried in a committee not likely to hold hearings before Bush leaves office. I'd include more of their "scathing editorial", but there's only so much fantasy one man can put-up with in a day, and the Sun Sentinel's obvious lack of understanding of our constitution, the lack of knowledge of the rule of law, and the failure to gauge their own subscribers has me close to tears - of laughter! This was an editorial that wouldn't have made the grade in a High-school paper much less a mainstream newspaper, and I'm hoping the shareholders of the Sun Sentinel are taking a close look at their Editorial Board, perhaps wondering if it isn't time to pick another retirement home to choose the next batch of Editors from...

As the final "icing on the cake", please note that the Sun Sentinel stated that this poll had 9,764 responses, yet when you tally the votes, only 6,080 are accounted for, evidence that voting in Florida, whether it be a Presidential election, local, or even a poll, the results do not reflect all of the voters, par for the course in an area that is known to pander to the Bush administration, even if they make themselves the laughing-stock of the entire United States!

Update: Since I posted this article, the Sun-Sentinel has "found" the missing votes, maybe we should call them the "hanging chads", and now their poll looks like this, which is still a resounding smack-down of their Editorial! It seems that in Southern Florida, who have traditionally been staunch supporters of the Bush administration, are supporting impeachment hearings!

Yep, there's no doubt that even people in traditionally "Red States" are becoming tired of our constitution being used as toilet paper, and the revolt against an authoritarian style of government is gaining in strength. Beware America, as it was spelled-out in "State of Emergency: The US in the Final Six Months of the George W. Bush Administration", we now live in dangerous times, and as America wakes-up and demands accountability from the Executive Branch, we may face dangers that are only now beginning to manifest themselves. Be ready for anything and everything, and if sites begin to "go dark" and those of us who have been working to expose the crimes of Bush and Cheney are "disappeared, you will know it's time to come-together to fight-off the enemies of freedom and democracy!
