I don't know...
Hil is right to say it'll take 8 years (2 administration) to develop a working universal health care system. I just wish Hil could convince me personally, of her own truest sincerity - I just don't sense it presently. Obama comes closest so far - JE seems to miss the boat by a minute or so as well...

Universal healthcare
I'm not sure what the 8-year hurdle is. Doctors already have a coding system that with a simple barcoding addition would enable digital input into an electronic billing system right from the patient's bedside, examination table or nurse's station. So from a data processing system a good bit of the infrastructure is already in place.
If she is talking about overcoming resistence of the insurance industry to universal care...well, they will not give up without a fight, but an election in 08 that clears Congress of those politicians who are joined at the hip to the insurance industry or sends a message to those that are that they need to wean themselves away from that industry will take us a long way down the road.
And if we clarify the goal to be essential expanding Medicare to everyone, everyone in the population will know what we are driving toward and all the TV ads that the insurance industry has used to confuse the voting public will have a greatly lessened influence.
This is not a hard thing to do once politicians decide that their first loyalty is to those who need medical care not those who make money off of delivering medical care.
