KS-02: Nice FISA Vote Boyda

My local Congresswoman, who is about to be in a battle for her seat seriously stepped up to the plate.

Often, I think our elected officials have a hard time leading when its so easy to just follow where people are going or float which way the wind blows. Boyda has been both a Representative and a leader to all of us here in Kansas.

Republicans are battling the leadership like mad trying to claim that Congress is trying to kill Americans or bring terrorists into the country. Continuing the same fearmongering and scare tactics we've seen for the last 8 years. Well, I for one am sick of it. And I think Americans are too.

We know what is responsible. And we know how we can protect our country without throwing the baby out with the bathwater. There is no reason to shred the Constitution and create a police state.

This is not China. Or North Korea. Last I checked we were still in a government By the People and For the People.

I mention this because a friend of mine posted this video to her facebook page and I had to let ya'll see it. Its funny and its nice. But more importantly it asks us to do something we don't hardly ever do for our elected officials. Tell them thanks.

Most times we get those mass emails that ask us to send bitchy letters and say how annoyed we are with whatever. Or we rail on them at a local meeting saying "why haven't you gotten me health care or affordable higher education yet?"

Here is a great opportunity to just be nice and say - hey... good job, and thanks. And I thought... wow, what a cool idea.

I hope you'll join me in thanking our members of Congress who sought to lead this country without destroying it.
