That's the conclusion I got from getting a glimpse of Moore's new film. As a 50 Year old with a high deductible Health insurance policy, my only thought was : I need to get the fuck out of this country. I took an online citizenship preliminary test for Canada awhile back and squeaked by. I could also go to Israel as a Jew. Yes, the rockets and bombs may be a hindrance.
But then again, if I have an accident or a Chronic illness here, knowing someone from my insurance company is going through my entire history looking for any disparity between my application and my health history in order to deny my claims was enough to get the wheels a turning. Imagine that? You pay thousands for health insurance and they have people whose only job it is to dig up anything they can on you to deny anything they deem as a major claim.
I don't know what the cut-off point is
Maybe it's more than you have paid in or less than you paid in but not enough to assure them a healthy profit. Especially for us non-govt , small business or sole proprietor type people. Hell they have to pay for those fancy brochures to get you to sign up anyway and it's expensive to print 200 lines per inch so the 1 Point type with all the disclaimers can be claimed "readable" in a court of law.
"Lets see here, Heart attack and a brain tumor eh? Well you didn't tell us about the Hang nail you had 45 years ago." DENIED!!!!!. Think I''m exaggerating? Watch the movie when it comes out. Sure, you may hire a lawyer if you have the money or a lawyer feels good enough about the case to take it on contingency; if the expenses are low, settlement potential high and the opposition doesn't weigh him down too much.
The showed a couple about my age: First they lose their house. In the movie then they show them moving into a storage room of their 20 something kids.
You know Then bankruptcy court is waiting with the new laws where the trustee hangs you upside down for a good shaking in the Govt's brand spanking new means test machine and see if any spare change falls out. Shit , you may may be taking money away from those massive bonuses paid out to health care execs.
The biggest contrast I saw was the interview the Govt Doctor in the UK. He makes around 200K a year and gets incentives by things like how many people he can get to quit smoking, or lower their cholesterol. Then he makes more.
Then we see that 1996 Testimony of the US Doctor who denied coverage to a patient and saved her company $500,000.00. The patient died. She got bonuses and raises. I suppose the 1996 testimony was a soul cleansing exercise for her but the point was driven home that in those 11 years, things have gone from bad to worse.
HRC and her fans won't be happy with this movie. If you are on her campaign, you better figure out how your going to explain the almost million dollars in contributions you've gotten from the corrupted Health Care Industry. You look really bad. Lots of people are gonna see it too. You Tube clips will be all over. Oh, the Campaign commercials. Oh Shit, I wouldn't wanna be you.
My main take away as I see these do nothing Democrats in action with more mealy mouth excuses then I had when I was a kid and all their apologists was three points:
1. Which country do I go to?
2. The common ties that bind the UK , France and Canada is their respective Governments are scared of the people. Here the people are scared of their Govt.
3. Right-Winger Anger: who argue against Canadian style Health Care as Socialism. Then claim people who can't afford babies shouldn't have them but then they smile when they see abortion Doctors sniped to death or how about the classic "Everyone should have enough saved up in case of an emergency". I can't wait for them to see the guy who makes the choice between the 60K finger or the 12K finger he lost on his table saw. I can see them checking their savings right away. No, many of them won't go to the movie but they won't be able to get away from all the You-Tube clips.
You can see examples of people frightened by their own government right here by all the calls to action from people outraged by the do-nothing D's who are then defended by the so called "realists" aka "apologists" aka Bob Strum Wannabes who want their 15% of campaign contributions as their candidates mouth meaningless promises they have no intention of ever falling through with. Hell I'll bet dollars to pennies they make up the excuses before they make the promises so they won't have it hung around them at campaign time.
I don't think I'll have the time to wait for number two to turn-around - I honestly don't think it will turn around until we have a full bore in your face 1930s style depression on 21st century steroids. People really won't do anything en-masse until the threat of death is in their face from starving.
Get those moving boxes ready. Thank God for the web, I won't have to go through near the pain researching new homes- Time to get the fuck out of here while I'm still healthy
To Mr. Moore, I will order the DVD and send it out to many people as soon as it you get it on Amazon. Keep the price around $10-$12.00. I plan to use your DVD to help all those people who are scared of immigrants get through it by evacuating enough Americans that they'll need those people big time. You'll kill two birds with one stone.
I know your investors want to make money. But do what you always do. Tell truth to power. Tell them this is way more important than a few more dollars in your pockets plus a couple of new houses and new cars. Get this thing out there now.
