Hello Everyone. Haven't been on the computer a lot lately, but I'm back. Teach has made me an administrator, and I've gotten emails from people wanting to join the Ruck. When I've tried to approve, I've gotten denied, but I might have figured it out now. However, I'm still not sure. I think a lot of people are at yearly kos now, so I hope everyone learns a lot and has fun. The Ruck

Suggested Ruck Mascots

It seems to me that a Ruck mascot might be a useful thing. I've avoided cats (to prevent jealous jockeying for attention among our 7.5 cats). For some reason birds came to mind. Here's a few possibilities. What's your favorite? Or post your own suggestions on this thread.

We've had a few new members join and some old friends show up, so I thought it might be good idea to start a forum where we can say a little something about ourselves. You know, "I'm X from Y and I'm a Z. I like insert topic here in my free time. I have X dogs/cats/rabbits/koalas/lizards/etc. I always wanted to X, but my Z prevented me." And so on. Ruck Reunion

Ruck Reunion August 2007 I can't believe that a month has passed since I opened a in-gathering of the Ruck. (We really need other people to open the Ruck Social Club when I wander off.) July has been a blur of working on the house, visiting my mother-in-law and working on her house, and generally sleeping and resting. The past school year was a draining experience, so I guess I need some down time. Anyhow, it's time to focus on August. For teachers, June is Friday, July is Saturday, and August is Sunday. So here comes Sunday. Kidspeak and I will be in Chicago this weekend for Yearly kos. Unfortunately KS's laptop won't arrive until we get back, so we'll be off-line while at a convention where every other person you see is live blogging. Ah well, so it goes. I'm tempted to take my black-and-white marbled covered composition book and an mechanical pencil. (The mechanical pencil is proof against charges of Ludditism.) Question of the day: What've you been up to this summer? Any good family vacation stories? Strange summer adventures? Amazing scientific discoveries? Crop circles? I'll be checking back in to this post now and then until Thursday morning. The Ruck
