Diatribune

These vlogs are all about the rebuild and the recovery in New Orleans, LA. after the devastation of Katrina and the subsequent failure of the levees. I interviewed everyday Nawlin-ians in March 2007 while on a trip to New Orleans. I went there specifically for the purpose of vlogging because I don't think the media get much of the story right on New Orleans. In each vlog I chose a single issue to make the focus of the diary and I try to tell the story without too much editorializing. That's hard to do because I feel passionately that much of this country has just moved on from the NOLA story and I observed first hand that the effort to rebuild the city is "grassroots," that's a soft way to say that our fellow Americans all over the region are pretty much left to "work it out" amongst themselves. Alone. Forgotten. But they will not be bowed nor broken by the waters or neglect.
