On this 1,475th day of the American invasion and occupation of Iraq, let’s get a couple of things straight.  (I know you guys get it, but there are many in the Democratic Party who don’t.  This is for them.  Please correct me where I get it wrong.)

There is no ‘war’ in Iraq - unless of course you count the civil war that we started.

You can’t just go and jump your neighbor because you don’t like him, kick his ass, take his stuff and occupy his house – then legitimize your actions by calling it a war.  There are any number of other words that apply: assault, robbery, mugging, but ‘war’ is not one of them.  The term ‘war’ implies something legit since America only fights just wars.  If we were at war there’d be a good reason for it.

There is of course no good reason why we are at day 1,475 of what is, on its face, an illegal occupation that was never and is not now justified in any sense of the word.  We should never have done this.  Anyone who disagrees with that is simply not rational.

There was never any justification for this.  We bombed babies for nothing.  

We sacrificed 3,500 plus young and vital American lives for nothing.  

We killed 655,000 Iraqis for nothing.  We created ten thousand Bin Ladens, we alienated our allies, we destabilized the Middle East for nothing.  We created this disastrous abomination by doing all of these things, and did it all for nothing.  For nothing.

So why are we going to fund it for another year to the tune of 120 Billion dollars?

Why?

Sacrifice over a thousand more American lives.

Why?

No telling how many more Iraqis dead at American hands.

Why?

If the congress is going to get tough with Bush instead of letting him have his way like they normally do, why not start bringing them home immediately?  You want to support our heroic and patriotic troops?  You want to treat them like they deserve and NOT like shit the way we usually do?

Then bring them home NOW!

You want to really support the troops?  Then don’t waste any more of their lives...

FOR NOTHING!

Why waste another life?

Why wait another day?

Why not put your money where your mouth is?

If you really want to support the troops why don’t you do right by them?

If you really support the troops why don’t you prove it?

Nobody wants to be the last man to die for a mistake.  That’s the way Senator Kerry put it once upon a time.

Well who do you think wants to be the last man to die for a fucking lie?

Who?

We all know what we need to do.  Now let’s just DO IT!

No more excuses, and no more stalling.

Bring them home now.

And tell that idiot ‘President’ to STFU!
